Dennis Carleton Published in IP Watchdog: Showing “Meaningful Limits” in Patent Claims

September 27, 2022

Principal Dennis Carleton was recently published in IP Watchdog for his extensive knowledge on patent claims. With the USPTO’s 2019 Revised Patent Subject Matter Eligibility Guidance defining an abstract idea, Carleton applies the latest guidance and discusses patent eligibility.

“The 2019 Revised Guidance represent a first step toward a long-awaited formalization of the Alice/Mayo test that will hopefully provide consistent application of the abstract idea judicial exception from examiner to examiner.”

Dennis was selected to be a featured contributor because of his experience in innovative engineering environments, allowing him to speak the language of an innovator and apply his legal skills to guide his clients through the intellectual property process, as well as his specific experience in patent eligibility.

IP Watchdog is a trusted online resource for intellectual property news, information, analysis and commentary in the patent and innovation industries. Also offering growing coverage of matters relating to trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks. Read the full article here.
