Amy Odenbaugh, Ph.D.

As a Patent Agent at KDW, Amy works with clients to evaluate their intellectual property, prepare patent applications, prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and coordinate the prosecution of foreign patent applications before patent offices outside the U.S.

With 20 years of experience in patent law, Amy has been involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for a variety of technologies in the chemical and biotechnology fields, including organic and inorganic chemicals and compositions, pharmaceuticals, drug delivery agents, diagnostic agents and methods, scintillation materials, polymers and polymer films, battery components, fibers, textiles, and biofuels.

Before pursuing a career in patent law, Amy worked as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, contributing as a co-inventor to several patents directed to drug conjugates and prodrugs. Her research background includes experience in organic synthesis, combinatorial chemistry, peptide and protein chemistry, DNA chip technology, and analytical/bioanalytical chemistry.
