Ben Aitken

As counsel at KDW, Ben Aitken draws from over 15 years’ of experience with US and international patent law practice to help clients pursue broad patent protection for their innovations. Ben’s ability to quickly develop an understanding of new technologies as well as the role of the technology used in the client’s business allows him to ensure clients that the patent protection secured provides meaningful coverage of their developed concepts.

Before pursuing a law career, Ben worked as a mechanical engineering consultant, preparing structural load analyses, testing of machine component operability, finite element analyses, and preparation of calculations to support other engineering analyses to provide guidance for clients in the power generation industry.

Prior to joining the team at KDW, Ben served as a Senior Associate at Jenkins, Wilson, Taylor & Hunt, where he assisted clients in a wide variety of technology areas to prepare and prosecute patent applications. He further provided counseling to clients regarding patentability of technologies, freedom-to-operate, and support related to due diligence efforts.
